Sunday 12th April our Scout section shall hike with scouts from all the scout sections in Louth Scout County.
We will leave Buíon Setanta Den at 9.30am by bus. We will be hiking in Slieve Guillion
We will return at 3.45pm. Cost €5.
Each Scout must have the following gear….
Wear
- thick socks
- hiking boots
- layers – vest, t-shirt, fleece, raingear
- sunscreen
Pack
- Raingear!!!!! a must on every event
- spare socks – the ground is still wet
- plastic bags (lots of uses ie if your boots get wet you can line your boots with plastic bags so your fresh socks stay dry)
- water
- packed lunch – make is sensible avoid empty calories you will burn extra energy hiking
- personal first aid kit (antiseptic, plasters, bandage etc)
- personal survival kit (we made these last year)
- hat and gloves and scarf – it is still very cold on the mountain
