We are excited to climb Ulster’s highest peak with Venture Scouts from Louth Scout County.
We will leave Buíon Setanta Scout Hall at 6.25 pm on Friday, 21st October and return on Saturday at 7 pm.
Please pay close attention to the gear list. Please have plenty of warm layers, wear proper, well-fitting hiking boots and don’t forget your flask.
- Sleeping Bag
- Bivvi Bag (ORANGE SURVIVAL BAG)
- Sleeping Mat and camping pillow
- Raincoat with Hood
- Waterproof Trousers
- Spare trousers
- Warm Hoodie / Jumper / Fleece
- 2 T-Shirts
- Underwear (extra Socks) and pyjamas or tracksuit for sleeping
- Thermals (base layer)
- Woolly Hat
- Scarf
- Gloves
- Hiking Boots
- Mess Kit (plate, bowl, cup, bottle, knife, fork, spoon, tea towel) all labelled, plastic or metal only.
- Flask to take a hot drink on the hike
- Water Bottle

- Personal first aid kit (small container with plasters, antiseptic, etc.)
