Monday, 18th April saw us take part in the National Spring Clean Week. We decided that we would like to clean up the area in and around our meeting place, which is the Redeemer Resource Centre. We were armed with gloves, hi-vis vests and the picker-upper things for those yucky items that we had to dispose of.

We were very surprised with the amount of rubbish that was collected on the night, despite, at first glance everything looked so clean....it was only when we got right down into it that the empty crisp packets, cigarette butts, plastic bottles etc were visible.

In preparation for this day, we had discussed with the Cub Scouts the Community and Environmental aspect to this clean up. Some of our Cub Scouts decided that as part of their SPICES that they would and should be entitled to some SPECIAL INTEREST BADGES. The badges were presented at a later date.
