This site is primarily used to communicate up to date information to both our scouts and their parents. It also serves as a media centre for our group. You can follow the news stories by email or by using Twitter. Also, be sure to check the photo gallery to see some moments from our past exploits!

Louth Scout County Venture Mourne Hike Camp – 21st – 22nd October 2022

We are excited to climb Ulster’s highest peak with Venture Scouts from Louth Scout County.

We will leave Buíon Setanta Scout Hall at 6.25 pm on Friday, 21st October and return on Saturday at 7 pm.

Please pay close attention to the gear list. Please have plenty of warm layers, wear proper, well-fitting hiking boots and don’t forget your flask.

 

  1. Sleeping Bag
  2. Bivvi Bag (ORANGE SURVIVAL BAG)
  3. Sleeping Mat and camping pillow
  4. Raincoat with Hood
  5. Waterproof Trousers
  6. Spare trousers
  7. Warm Hoodie / Jumper / Fleece
  8. 2 T-Shirts
  9. Underwear (extra Socks) and pyjamas or tracksuit for sleeping
  10. Thermals (base layer)
  11. Woolly Hat
  12. Scarf
  13. Gloves
  14. Hiking Boots
  15. Mess Kit (plate, bowl, cup, bottle, knife, fork, spoon, tea towel) all labelled, plastic or metal only.
  16. Flask to take a hot drink on the hike
  17. Water Bottle
  18. Torch
  19. Personal first aid kit (small container with plasters, antiseptic, etc.)
  20. Wash kit & small Towel or face cloth
  21. penknife*

Please pack all gear inside plastic bags and in ONE rucksack only!!
